Gerald Sata, Son of Late President Michael Sata, Wows Judges at The Icon Zambia S2 Auditions

In a memorable audition for The Icon Zambia Season 2, Gerald Sata, son of late President Michael Chilufya Sata, left the judges and audience in awe. Auditioning under the alias Gerald Starr, the 26-year-old singer initially didn’t disclose his famous lineage.

The revelation came when judge David Kazadi asked for his full name, prompting a shocked reaction from the panel. Gerald explained that he intended to sing a song his father loved for his upcoming birthday, adding pressure to an already high-stakes audition.

Despite the tension, Gerald delivered a heartfelt performance, impressing the judges so much that they requested he continue with another song. His talent earned him a standing ovation from the panel. Judge Cleo Ice Queen praised him, saying, “Shake things up. You have shook things up for Lusaka. Oh my goodness.”

David Kazadi acknowledged the pressure surrounding Gerald’s audition, noting that the judges were relieved to see his remarkable talent: “We couldn’t be more grateful that you chose to come on a programme like The Icon Zambia.”

In the end, Gerald Sata received three unanimous “Yes” votes, securing his spot in the next round and proving that musical talent runs deep in his family.
