Chester MoPower, Felix Ndangeni Inshila & IDC Light Comedy Charged With Conduct Likely to Cause a Breach of the Peace

The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) has confirmed that musicians Chester MoPower, Felix Ndangeni Inshila, and comedian Winston Ngosa, popularly known as IDC Light Comedy, have been formally charged following their recent arrest.

In an update shared by ZAM, the association said it had engaged the Zambia Police Service over the matter after learning of the arrests involving its members.

According to Police Spokesperson and Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi, the three have been charged with the offence of “Conduct Likely to Cause the Breach of the Peace.”

Following the development, ZAM called on members of the music fraternity to stand in solidarity with fellow artists whenever they face difficult situations.

The association emphasized the importance of unity within the creative industry, urging musicians to support one another during legal or personal challenges.

ZAM also used the opportunity to remind its members to check on fellow musician General Kanene, who was recently assaulted during a political rally and is currently recovering.

“ZAM—United with one voice,” the association concluded in its statement.

The circumstances surrounding the charge are expected to become clearer as the legal process unfolds. Authorities are yet to provide further details regarding the allegations beyond the offence that has been cited.
