ZRA Dismisses Claims It Contacted Rich Bizzy, Shenky, Chester & Kadafi Over Tax Compliance

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has moved to dispel reports suggesting that it contacted musicians Rich Bizzy, Shenky, Chester and Kadafi demanding proof of tax compliance. In a brief statement shared on its official Facebook page, the Authority categorically denied the claims and clarified that it had not engaged any of the named artists regarding the matter.
“ZRA has not in any way reached out to Shenky, Chester, Rich Bizzy and Kadafi, demanding proof of tax compliance. We urge all to protect the professionalism and integrity of ZRA. Everyone should voluntarily comply with tax laws,” the statement read.
The clarification comes amid growing public discussion surrounding the musicians, who have recently been at the center of debate following reports that some of their performances at certain events had been cancelled.
The Authority’s statement appears aimed at addressing speculation that had begun circulating online linking the artists to alleged tax-related inquiries.
While dismissing the reports, ZRA reiterated the importance of voluntary compliance with tax laws by all eligible taxpayers. The statement has since generated reactions on social media, with many users welcoming the clarification and calling for greater caution when sharing unverified information online.
As discussions continue, ZRA has emphasized the need to safeguard the institution’s professionalism and integrity while encouraging all citizens and businesses to meet their tax obligations in accordance with the law.
