Chiko Wise Dies: Official Announcement of His Passing
The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) wishes to inform the public and the arts fraternity of the untimely passing of celebrated artist Chiko Mwenya Mumba, popularly known as Chiko Wise. He passed away in the early hours of today, March 24, 2026.
Chiko Wise was a vibrant pillar of the Zambian music industry, renowned for his signature energy and chart-topping hits including:
Mukasende (Napapata Ba Mayo)
Shintwala (ft. Afunika)
Kumanda (ft. B1 Mr Perfecto)
Gelo Wamawanu (Afunika ft. Chiko Wise)
He is survived by his wife and children. As an association, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fans.
