Yo Maps Secures First AFRIMA Award, Celebrates on Arrival in Zambia

Singer Yo Maps has won his first-ever AFRIMA Award, marking a major milestone in his music career. He was nominated alongside some of Africa’s biggest stars, including Tyler ICU, Nasty C, Jah Prayzah, Master KG, Kabza De Small, and several others, making the win even more significant.

The Zambian hitmaker scooped the award for Best Southern Africa Male with his popular song “Mr & Mrs.” The victory places Yo Maps among the top artists in the region and highlights the growing impact of Zambian music on the continental stage.

Upon his return to Zambia, Yo Maps received a warm and heroic welcome from fans, well-wishers, and members of the Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM). He was also received by the association’s president, B’Flow, in a show of unity and pride for the singer’s achievement.

The AFRIMA Awards proved to be a powerful platform for African talent, featuring multiple nominations for artists such as Fally Ipupa, Ferre Gola, Himra, Didi B, Eboloko, Emma’a, Rema, Nasty C, Mawhoo, Jaylann, and Juma Jux. Ayra Starr secured two nominations, including the prestigious Artiste of the Year category, underscoring the high level of competition at the event.
